Harp Technology (Part 11)

Harp Technology
(Part 11)
And the contract between McGill and Giltaur which held a clause that required the university to return the site to its to its untouched condition at the end of the lease. And the High-water test site had been grown from a rough back scrubland to a major scientific facility in only a few years. And Massive bulldozing was needed to create the launch ranges. And numerous buildings and roads had been constructed. It would take a perhaps a million dollars or then more to restore this site to its original site condition. This can brought the meeting to an immediate halt as the parties retired for the legal consultations.

But Naturally Bull also had a solution to this problem that would suit all the sides. And In exchange for waving the lease clause McGill University would transfer the High-water and Barbados launch sites along with the guns and all facilities to the Bull. So with few options the University agreed. And that the Harp properties can be transferred to the Bull under the title of the Space Research Institute Inc. (S.R.I.).

In the January of 1968 and Bull can signed an agreement with the University Norwich in the Vermont to take over the administration of S.R.I. But on this condition that private funding would be found. And in the May of 1968 the Bronfman family, of Seagram’s liquor fame, can had been attracted to the program and they bought out the Norwich University's interests. And this new entity was known as the Space Research Corporation.
And the Space Research Corporation w
as the legacy of HARP and they inherited the a world-class ballistics missile facility. And Originally Bull intended to continue his satellite research. But although he could not find the funding to continue, and he never gave up his dream of gun-launching a satellite (see  GLO-BL. Unfortunately business and science infrequently see eye to eye. And In order to pay the bills and maintain his operations Bull was progressively forced to take on contracts to develop the military ordinance. And the story of Gerald Bull and this Space Research Corporation are very interesting and complicated one that is beyond the scope of this article.
REQUIEM
And Gerry Bull had never gave up his dream of gun launching with satellite. And In the mid-1980's he was diminished by the nation of Iraq to construct a satellite launching gun system. And this baboon gun - a massive 1000 mm bore, 156 meter long, and satellite launching gun - were seen as a danger for Iraq's neighbors (that despite the fact that its absolute size would have be made it ineffective as a weapon and very easily disabled). And Gerry Bull was targeted for assassination after he refused to be swayed by The threats. And On the evening March 22, 1990, at the age of 62, as Bull approached his apartment door in Brussels, he was a shot six times in the back of the head. The assassin was reported to be Israeli military, because the case is never solved. Gerry Bull's last Supergun was cut up and scrapped by the UN at the deduction of the Iraq and Kuwait war. which was never accumulated or fired.

The Barbados Military Cemetery
And the Barbados Military Cemetery can also refer to the Garrison Military Cemetery that is located at Carlisle Bay between the Hilton Barbados and St Ann fort, which is not far from The Garrison Savannah, St. Michael. And At one point in time, this area was all overwhelm and became the burial ground for the vast number of people throughout the island of Barbados who would die of yellow fever.  And they dead can usually placed in one-dimensional graves or in some instances left on the surface of the earth where they would soon be submerged into the swamp in the space of a few days.

And this Barbados Military Cemetery came into being sometime around the 1780, however the earliest noticeable grave is dated back to 1822. But today, the Barbados Military Cemetery is in good condition and they were very much in use to adapt ex-servicemen, women and their families.

And a memorial building currently sits on the site and that they was reconditioned in the November of 1984. And this military cemetery is part of  The garrison historical area.

And the Admission to the cemetery is free of cost; but however contributions are welcomed in aid of maintaining the cemetery and other military buildings.

Accompanied by its history, today this is a place of recreation, and private homes, and office buildings, horse racing, exercising, parades, kite flying and even a place to spend time with friends and family. But however, what we see today is this centrally located St. Michael place of interest in the Barbados, is can indeed a far cry from what used to be. For nearly 2,000 years…..
